Warehouse to Pool Transfers If you need to make warehouse transfer to either Harvest Pools or Contract Managed Pools, please do so ASAP. We have seen some good hedging and pricing opportunities in the last week, but are concerned that they may fall away. If you require assistance to complete your transfers, please don’t wait till Friday afternoon, as we have been rushed with transfer requests, and it can be difficult to get them completed in one afternoon. 2008-09 Barley Pool A payment for the 2008-09 barley pool will be made by 31/12/09. Revision of Chickpea Pool Prices Special One Grain have revised their chickpea pool estimate to $430-$450/mt del. AWB Bellata & Gilgandra. Differentials for Graincorp are as follows – Bellata ($18.50) Burren ($29.50) Cryon ($33.50) Moree ($23.50) Goondiwindi ($28.50) These differentials factor in costs associated with road movement of peas to a packing house. However, we are currently in negotiations with a number of buyers to move these peas via rail, in bulk, direct to port which will reduce the actual costs. If the majority of peas are sold via this avenue, then these cost savings will be passed onto growers through a reduced differential amount. Chickpea pricing has as usual been unpredictable with trades at $450/mt del Narrabri on Monday. This movement was fostered by what appears to be buyers short covering of positions and also increased buying interest from India due to local crop concerns. However rain early this week in the major Indian growing areas reduced local crop concerns temporarily and consequently the price here. Prices are now $430-$440/mt del Narrabri packer. The volatility of the AUD/USD is also contributing to price fluctuations and a significant movement in the dollar should see a corresponding move in chickpea prices. Insurance Crop Insurance Yield Declarations If you have insured using an After Harvest Yield Declaration policy please remember to complete your yield declarations and return them to Tiffany Loeve at the Moree office, fax 6752 1033. Under the terms of the policy, yield declarations must be completed and returned no later than 14 days from the end of harvest.
